First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) can produce a strong immune response in children aged 6-59 months who are hospitalized with severe acute malnutrition. Half the children will receive the PCV, and the other half will receive a typhoid vaccine as a comparison. All children will later receive the other vaccine to ensure everyone benefits. Researchers will follow the children for 12 months to measure antibody levels and safety.
