First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study aims to find the optimal insertion depth for an esophageal stethoscope with a temperature sensor to accurately measure core body temperature during surgery. Researchers will test different depths in 40 adults undergoing elective surgery to see which gives the most accurate reading compared to a standard thermometer.
