Gene test may guide kidney cancer therapy to boost response

Summary
This study tests whether analyzing the DNA of a kidney tumor can help doctors pick the most effective treatment for advanced or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma. About 54 adults who have not had prior systemic therapy will receive either a combination of two immunotherapy drugs or one immunotherapy plus a targeted therapy pill, based on their tumor's genetic profile. The goal is to see if this personalized approach improves the chance that the cancer shrinks or disappears.
