Can eye scans predict brain fog after surgery?
NCT ID NCT07264764
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at 50 adults having laparoscopic abdominal surgery to see if changes in the eye's optic nerve and brain oxygen levels could predict confusion after surgery. Researchers used ultrasound and a special brain oxygen monitor during surgery. The goal was to better understand how the surgery affects the brain, not to test a treatment.
