First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at how a drug called naltrexone, which blocks natural opioids in the body, changes feelings of social connection and brain responses. Healthy adults will take either naltrexone or a placebo for 7 days, report their daily social feelings, and have a brain scan on the last day. The goal is to understand the role of opioids in social experiences, not to treat any disease.
