NCT ID NCT07510373
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a program called DOTS that helps doctors create a personalized plan for patients to gradually reduce opioid painkillers after orthopedic surgery. The program includes a taper schedule, a patient handout, and phone support after leaving the hospital. Researchers will compare patients whose doctors use DOTS to those who don't, to see if it leads to safer opioid use and better pain control.
