New anesthesia approach may reduce opioid use in lung surgery

Summary

This study tested an opioid-free anesthesia method using esketamine for people having lung nodule surgery. 84 adults were randomly assigned to receive either esketamine or standard opioid anesthesia. The main goal was to see if esketamine improved lung function during surgery. The study is completed and results may help reduce opioid use in surgery.
