New eye gel helps cataract surgery go smoothly

Summary
This study tested a gel called OpHLINE that is used during cataract surgery to keep the front part of the eye open and protect delicate cells. 69 adults having cataract surgery received the gel. The results showed it worked well for most patients and had a low risk of serious side effects.
