Summary

This study tests whether an online guide based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help college students with insomnia. Participants will either receive the online ACT program or be placed on a waitlist. The program includes sleep education, mindfulness skills, and behavioral changes like sleep restriction. Researchers will measure changes in insomnia severity after 4 weeks and at a one-month follow-up.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Online ACT Guide for Insomnia (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If effective, this online program could offer college students a convenient, accessible way to manage insomnia without needing in-person therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 79 participants, so results may not apply to all students. The intervention is short (4 weeks) and may not work for everyone.
