Can a single surgery beat infection? knee study tests patient selection
NCT ID NCT02405702
Summary
This study looked at whether carefully selecting patients could make a one-step knee replacement surgery as effective as the standard two-step surgery for treating an infected knee implant. Researchers reviewed the medical records of 60 adults who had the one-step procedure between 2000 and 2010. The goal was to see if using specific patient criteria led to better recovery from the infection.
