New Alzheimer's drug takes first step in human safety trial
NCT ID NCT05696483
First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This early-stage study tests a new drug called OLX-07010 in healthy adults and elderly volunteers to see if it is safe and how the body processes it. The drug aims to stop harmful tau proteins from clumping together, which is linked to Alzheimer's disease. 88 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers will monitor for side effects. This is a first step to see if the drug is safe enough for future studies in people with Alzheimer's.
