New obesity drug shows promise in phase 2 fat-loss trial

Summary
This study tests a new medication called aleniglipron (GSBR-1290) to see if it helps people with obesity lose body fat. About 71 adults with a BMI of 30 or higher will receive either the drug or a placebo for 40 weeks. The main goal is to measure changes in total body fat using a special scan.
