MRI tool may help young girls avoid unnecessary ovary removal

NCT ID NCT07313514

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special MRI scoring system called O-RADS can accurately predict if an ovarian mass in girls under 16 is cancerous or not. Researchers will review the MRI results of 100 girls who had surgery for ovarian masses. The goal is to help surgeons choose the right operation—removing just the mass or the whole ovary—to avoid spreading cancer while preserving healthy tissue.
