First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This small pilot study will test a non-invasive device that stimulates the vagus nerve through the neck to see if it can reduce jaw pain and improve mood in 10 premenopausal women with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Participants will receive the treatment twice a week for 8 weeks and undergo MRI scans, blood draws, and questionnaires. The goal is to understand how this approach affects pain and brain function.
