Summary

This study tests whether a personalized diet plan from a registered dietitian can improve constipation in people with Parkinson's disease. Fifty-four participants will follow the diet for 3 months, with regular check-ins. Researchers will measure bowel movements, gut bacteria, and diet quality to see if the intervention helps.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
dietitian-guided nutritional intervention (diet plan and counseling)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to manage constipation in Parkinson's disease, improving quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (54 people) with no blinding, so results may not be conclusive or widely applicable. Dietary changes can be hard to stick with long-term.
