Simple nursing steps may cut birth tears for first-time moms
NCT ID NCT07505524
First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether a set of nursing care steps (a 'care bundle') could reduce perineal tearing and improve outcomes for first-time mothers giving birth vaginally. Eighty healthy women were split into two groups: one received the special care bundle, the other received standard care. Researchers measured the degree of tearing, pain, and newborn health. The goal was to see if this simple approach could make childbirth safer and less traumatic.
