Brain monitor helps nurses sedate kids more precisely, cuts ICU time

NCT ID NCT07252024

Summary

This study tested a new way to manage sedation for children on breathing machines in intensive care. Nurses used a brainwave monitor to guide sedative doses, aiming for more precise sedation. The goal was to see if this approach reduced over- or under-sedation, lowered drug use and withdrawal symptoms, and shortened the child's ICU stay.
