First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested a nurse-led approach using a brain-wave monitor (BIS) to guide sedation in 88 children on breathing machines in the ICU. The goal was to see if this method could reduce time spent under- or over-sedated, lower sedative drug doses, and shorten hospital stays. Results may help improve comfort and safety for critically ill children.
