New study tests drug to help PAD patients walk farther

NCT ID NCT06319339

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of the drug diroximel fumarate (Vumerity) can improve blood vessel function and walking ability in people with peripheral artery disease (PAD). PAD causes leg pain during walking due to poor blood flow. Researchers will give 20 participants either the drug or a placebo and measure changes in blood flow, oxygen use, and treadmill walking distance. The goal is to see if reducing oxidative stress can ease symptoms and improve mobility.
