Summary
This study tested whether treating severe gum disease (periodontitis) with a deep cleaning procedure could also reduce teeth grinding (bruxism) during the day and night. Forty adults with advanced gum disease or healthy gums took part. Researchers measured grinding events before and three months after treatment using a portable muscle monitor.
