New heart storage method could save more lives in transplants

Summary
This study compares a new method of preserving donor hearts (non-ischemic preservation) to the standard cold storage method for heart transplants. The goal is to see if the new method leads to better heart function and fewer complications within the first month and year after transplant. About 230 adults receiving a heart transplant will take part.
