New study checks if simpler heart monitors work as well as standard ones in c-sections
NCT ID NCT06473818
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at 45 women having planned C-sections under spinal anesthesia to see if a non-invasive heart monitor (NICAP/NICCO) gives the same readings as the standard invasive method (EV1000). The goal was to check if the simpler, less risky device could reliably track heart function during surgery. The study did not test any treatment, only compared measurement tools.
