NCT ID NCT07456969
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study aims to develop a non-invasive malaria diagnostic tool that detects the disease from a person's breath instead of a blood sample. Researchers will collect breath samples from 200 people aged 12 and older who have a fever and are suspected of having malaria. The goal is to confirm whether specific chemicals in the breath can accurately identify malaria infection, offering a faster and painless alternative to current blood-based tests.
