Finger clip could replace painful blood tests for kids in surgery

NCT ID NCT07352033

Summary

This study tested whether a simple finger sensor could accurately measure blood loss in children during complex brain and spine surgeries. Researchers compared the sensor's readings to traditional blood draws in 60 children from newborns to teenagers. The goal was to see if this painless method could reliably replace invasive needle sticks for monitoring during operations.
