No-Needle lung scan reveals hidden damage in cystic fibrosis kids
NCT ID NCT04467957
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tests a new, non-contrast MRI technique to map blood flow in the lungs of 26 children with cystic fibrosis (ages 6–21). The goal is to see if blood vessel damage happens early, before standard breathing tests show problems. Participants will be scanned at the start and after 6 months, and results will be compared to healthy controls. This is a pilot study to gather knowledge, not to provide a treatment.
