Can a mirror and mild zaps restore arm movement after stroke?

NCT ID NCT04913506

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at whether using a small electrical device on the arm while looking in a mirror helps people with hemiplegia (paralysis on one side) recover arm movement and reduce pain. 42 adults with subacute hemiplegia took part. Researchers measured motor function, spasticity, mood, and daily living skills. The goal was to see if combining these two therapies works better than either one alone.
