Summary

This study tested the drug nivolumab in 54 people with advanced biliary tract cancer (cancer of the bile ducts or gallbladder) that had not responded to prior chemotherapy. The goal was to see if nivolumab could shrink tumors or slow the cancer's growth. Nivolumab is an immunotherapy that helps the immune system attack cancer cells, but it is not yet approved for this type of cancer.
