New drug cocktail aims to shrink head and neck tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT04080804

First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding another immune-boosting drug (relatlimab or ipilimumab) to the standard immunotherapy nivolumab can better shrink head and neck tumors before surgery. About 80 adults with advanced but removable head and neck cancer will receive one of these combinations or nivolumab alone. The main goals are to check safety and see how many tumors shrink or disappear.
