First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested the drug nilotinib in 34 adults with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that could not be removed by surgery. The goal was to see if the drug could shrink or stop the growth of tumors. The results showed that some patients had their tumors shrink or stay stable for at least 6 months, but the treatment is not a cure and ongoing management is needed.
