Moms become nurses: new program transforms NICU experience for premature babies
NCT ID NCT06958458
Summary
This study tested whether teaching and involving mothers in the daily care of their premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) could reduce the mothers' stress and help them bond better with their infants. Researchers worked with 60 first-time mothers whose babies were born very early. They compared mothers who received special training and spent 6-8 hours daily in the NICU providing care to mothers who received standard hospital care.
