Scientists hunt for genes that predict NF1 severity

NCT ID NCT00111384

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study aims to find genes that may explain why some people with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) have more serious health problems than others. Researchers will examine medical records, perform physical exams, take blood samples, and use MRI scans in over 300 participants, including patients and their family members. The goal is to better understand the disease and identify rare features, not to test a new treatment.
