Surgeons test 'Valve Rebuild' to stop Post-Surgery diarrhea in colon cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07167420

Summary

This study is testing whether rebuilding a natural valve in the intestine during colon cancer surgery can help patients recover better. During standard surgery for right-sided colon cancer, doctors remove a valve that helps control bowel movements, which can lead to diarrhea and poor nutrition. Researchers will compare patients who get this new valve reconstruction technique against those who get standard surgery to see if it reduces these problems and improves quality of life.
