First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests two different doses of an experimental oral drug, LXE408, against a standard treatment (miltefosine) for localized cutaneous leishmaniasis, a parasitic skin disease. About 250 adults in the Americas with up to 6 skin lesions will take the medicine for several weeks. The main goal is to see if the new drug can fully heal the lesions and prevent them from coming back by 6 months.
