New drug combo trial aims for Longer-Lasting relief in blood disorder

NCT ID NCT07065968

Summary

This study is testing whether adding the drug teriflunomide to a standard steroid treatment (dexamethasone) works better for adults newly diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system attacks blood platelets. The main goal is to see if the two-drug combination helps patients maintain a safer platelet count for a longer period. Researchers will compare the combo against the steroid treatment alone in 132 participants across multiple centers in China.
