New scanner aims to sharpen cancer imaging

NCT ID NCT06477003

Summary

This study is testing a new imaging device called MSOT to see if it can better identify cancer in neck lymph nodes and monitor scarring from radiation treatment. It will involve 100 patients with head and neck cancer who are scheduled for surgery or radiation. The research focuses on safety and comparing the new images to standard methods, but the scans are for research only and won't guide treatment decisions.
