New heartburn drug aims to outperform standard treatment in major trial
NCT ID NCT07313774
Summary
This study is testing whether a new medication called linaprazan glurate works better than the commonly used drug lansoprazole at keeping the esophagus healed in people with acid reflux disease (GERD). About 1050 adults who have already had their esophagus damage healed in a previous study will take one of the treatments daily for up to a year. Doctors will use camera scopes to check if the healing is maintained and monitor for side effects.
