Breakthrough handheld scanner could spot childhood blindness earlier
NCT ID NCT06177977
Summary
This study is testing a new, handheld eye scanner to help doctors detect and monitor rare inherited retinal diseases in young children (ages 0-8). The goal is to see if this portable device can provide clearer images to spot signs of these diseases earlier than current methods. Researchers will compare scans from 80 children, some with the disease and some without, to create better standards for diagnosis and future treatment trials.
