Double-Punch cancer treatment trial seeks to boost survival rates

Summary
This study is testing two different sequences of intensive chemotherapy and radiation therapy given before surgery for esophageal cancer that has spread to nearby lymph nodes. Researchers want to see if combining two established treatments in a 'total neoadjuvant therapy' approach can better control the cancer and improve survival compared to current standard treatments. The trial will enroll 216 adults with resectable adenocarcinoma of the esophagus or the junction between the esophagus and stomach.
