Summary
This first-in-human study tested a new type of balloon catheter coated with the drug everolimus. It was used in 75 patients to open blocked arteries in the thigh and knee. The main goal was to see if the drug coating could help keep the artery open longer and prevent it from narrowing again, potentially reducing the need for repeat procedures.
