Summary
This study tests whether newer diabetes drugs (SGLT2 inhibitors and DPP-4 inhibitors) can delay the onset or worsening of diabetic retinopathy, an eye complication of diabetes. Researchers will compare these newer drugs to older ones like metformin in 70 adults with type 2 diabetes. The goal is to see if early use of these drugs can protect vision and reduce the need for advanced treatments.
