NCT ID NCT07549399
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests whether adding immunotherapy and a targeted drug (based on tumor genetics) to standard short-course radiation and chemotherapy can improve outcomes for people with high-risk rectal cancer that is mismatch repair proficient (pMMR/MSS). About 204 adults aged 18-75 with stage II/III rectal cancer will be randomly assigned to the intensified combo or standard treatment. The goal is to see if the new approach helps keep cancer from returning for longer.
