New 'Pulsed Vacuum' eye surgery aims for gentler cataract removal

NCT ID NCT07074431

Summary

This study is comparing a new cataract surgery technique to the current standard method. The new method uses a gentle, high-frequency pulsed vacuum to break up and remove the cloudy lens, which researchers hope will be safer and lead to faster recovery. The study will involve 60 adults with cataracts in both eyes, with each patient receiving one type of surgery on one eye and the other type on the other eye to directly compare the results.
