New brain sensor could map thoughts with unprecedented precision

NCT ID NCT04950309

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of sensor that measures the tiny magnetic fields produced by brain activity. Researchers want to see if this sensor can pinpoint where in the brain different functions happen more accurately than current technology. Healthy adults aged 18 to 65 who have already had an MRI scan can join. Participants will do tasks like feeling puffs of air on their fingers or looking at patterns while their brain activity is recorded.
