Zapping heart rhythm problems: new device trial seeks to control irregular heartbeats

Summary
This study is testing a new medical device that uses brief electrical pulses to treat atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder. The device aims to create small scars in heart tissue to block the abnormal electrical signals causing irregular heartbeats. Researchers will enroll 360 adults with symptomatic atrial fibrillation who haven't responded well to medication. The study will measure how safe the procedure is and whether it successfully reduces irregular heart rhythms over time.
