Electric balloon trial targets irregular heartbeat
NCT ID NCT06828939
Summary
This study is testing a new balloon device that uses brief pulses of electricity to treat atrial fibrillation, a common irregular heartbeat. The device is designed to isolate the heart veins that trigger the abnormal rhythm. Researchers will enroll 75 people with short-duration AFib who haven't had this type of procedure before and follow them for one year to check safety and effectiveness.
