First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested a device called NeuroVision that monitors nerve activity while surgeons place screws in the spine. Normally, screw position is checked after placement, but this device checks as the screw goes in. The goal was to see if real-time monitoring helps prevent screw misplacement and nerve injury. 60 adults having lumbar fusion surgery took part.
