New vaccine combo aims to outsmart neuroblastoma in high-risk kids

NCT ID NCT04936529

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a combination of a bivalent vaccine, a sugar called beta-glucan, and a protein (GM-CSF) to help the immune system fight high-risk neuroblastoma that is in complete remission. About 286 participants will receive the vaccine and beta-glucan, with some also getting GM-CSF to see if it boosts antibody levels. The goal is to prevent the cancer from returning, not to cure it, as ongoing monitoring and potential future treatments are still needed.
