Nerve stretching may beat standard therapy for heel pain

NCT ID NCT07179666

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This small pilot study tests whether a technique called neural mobilization—gentle exercises targeting the nerve in the ankle—can reduce heel pain from plantar fasciitis better than traditional physical therapy. Twelve adults aged 19 to 40 with confirmed plantar fasciitis will receive three weeks of treatment. Researchers will measure pain, foot function, and foot health before and after treatment to see which approach works better.
