Nerve block trial offers hope for stopping deadly heart rhythm storms
NCT ID NCT07211347
Summary
This study is testing if a temporary nerve block in the neck can help control severe, repeated episodes of dangerous heart rhythms, known as an 'electrical storm.' It will compare the procedure using local anesthetics to no intervention in patients whose storms are not stopped by standard medications. The goal is to see if the block can cut these life-threatening events in half within 12 hours.
