New nerve block study aims to cut opioid use for cancer pain
NCT ID NCT07211386
Summary
This study is testing a nerve block procedure to help cancer patients with severe, hard-to-treat abdominal pain. It will see if the block reduces the need for opioid painkillers and shortens hospital stays compared to standard pain care. The study involves about 25 patients who come to the emergency room with pain from gastrointestinal cancers.
